Quick answer
Even welcome company has a limit. The verse applies the honey principle to friendship, one verse after stating it.

The placement is the craft. Verse 16 used lest you be filled about honey; this one uses the same verb about a person, so the neighbor becomes full of you the way a man becomes full of sweetness. The book rarely arranges itself this tightly, and the pairing does the interpretive work without a word of explanation.
The counsel itself is unsentimental and slightly bruising. It assumes you are welcome, that the friendship is real, and that presence is still a quantity which can be overdrawn. And the last word is hate, which is stronger than the situation seems to warrant until you have watched it happen. Nothing here says withdraw or ration your affection. It says the house belongs to him.
