Repeated almost word for word at 26:15.
Quick answer
He got his hand into the food and could not finish the trip. The verse is a joke, and the joke is the argument.

Comedy is the whole method here, and it works by exaggeration: this man is not too tired to work, he is too tired to eat, which nobody actually is. The NKJV footnote records that the ancient versions were unsure of the container, reading bosom or armpit instead of bowl, which changes the staging and not the punchline. What makes the picture land is that the effort involved is nearly zero and still too much, so the verse locates the problem in the will rather than in the size of the task. The chapter has already said the serious version at verse 15. This is the same truth delivered so that it sticks.
